Laura Fechner
Director of Finance and Human Resources
Laura is married to Mike Fechner and they have three sons and a daughter. Her duties include accounting, payroll and human resources. She teaches a women’s Bible Study each Friday in the Cedar Springs community, which she very much enjoys. She knows that her most important ministry is at home, but knows that God also calls her to go out to serve as “Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” Phil. 2:4 |

Velma Mitchell
Director of
Community Relations
Velma’s journey in ministry began in 1989, when she and her late son, Romon Mitchell, Sr. met Mike Fechner. She serves as the community liaison for H.I.S. BridgeBuilders. Velma has led community bible studies since 1990. She can always be found praying for others, cooking, visiting and loving on the residents of the BonTon and Turner Courts community. Ms. Mitchell is also a motivational speaker. She coordinates resources for the community. She also builds relationships between churches and businesses in the city. Velma is the mother of Lavar Horne (adopted) and the proud grandmother of Shayla, Romon, Romona, and Sanai. “I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says the Lord, “thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 |

Mary Anderwald
Assistant to the President
Mary Anderwald has been serving as the Administrative Assistant to Mike Fechner with H.I.S. BridgeBuilders since November 2003. Mary also serves on the Intercessory Prayer Team for BridgeBuilders. Mary surrendered to full time ministry in 2001 following a long career in corporate America. In addition to her work with BridgeBuilders, Mary also serves part time on staff at Prestonwood Baptist Church and directs a Ladies Bible Fellowship class. Mary is a widow and has no children. |

Sharon Emmert
Director of Operations
Sharon has served with H.I.S. BridgeBuilders since 2002. She joined BridgeBuilders after retiring from Delta Air Lines as a Supervisor, In-Flight Service. Sharon is married to Jim and has one daughter, Melissa. Job responsibilities include overseeing the GED and Computer Classes, the Eye and Dental Clinics and supervising job-training opportunities within the ministry. |

Roger Sappington
Director of Spiritual Development
Roger began volunteering with H.I.S. BridgeBuilders in 2002. He then came on staff in 2004 as the Volunteer Coordinator. He now oversees the spiritual development component of the minsitry in both Dallas locations, as well as the extension branches. Roger graduated from The University of Texas in 2002 and received his Master of Divinity in May 2006 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to his beautiful wife, Kelly. |

Kathy "KJ" Burleson
Director of Program Mangaement and Human Resources
KJ joined BridgeBuilders in May of 2008 to help with program management and human resources. KJ has a doctorate of education in Instructional technology from Texas Tech University and has taught both on the elementary and college level. KJ's love for ministry stems from her family who were overseas missionaries. KJ enjoys cross-stitching, reading, and traveling.

Sandra Fechner
Branch Manager, San Antonio
Sandra had been happily married to the same great man, Ruben Fechner, for 47 years. The LORD has blessed her with three wonderful children and eleven equally delightful grandchildren. Sandra met the LORD Jesus as her Savior when she was nine years old. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! Sandra and Ruben have been working with the BridgeBuilders ministry since 2004. The LORD has been faithful and true in the work in San Antonio. We covet your prayers for us that all that we do would be in keeping with the LORD's direction and heart. We take as our mission Micah 6:8 "He has told you O man what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" (NASB) May we love to do what is right, may we love mercy, may we ever be merciful, humbly walking with our God. |

Odoi Odotei
Branch Manager, Boston
Odoi has been serving with H.I.S. BridgeBuilders since the fall of 2004. Operating out of Hope Fellowship Church where he also serves as the “City Building” Coordinator, Odoi oversees several focal outreaches, including an ESL and bible study ministry for international residents of the city and an after school program for at-risk-youth. |

Ray and Tressa Shaw
Branch Managers, Clarksburg
In 2001, God called Ray and Tressa out of the business world and into full time ministry. In 2002 they founded "A Flame for Christ Ministries" which serves as a discipling ministry working as helping hands to Pastors across denominational lines helping them train up their congregations in the basics of the faith: Prayer; Bible Study; and Evangelism. Ray and Tressa began volunteering as City Managers for Clarksburg, West Virginia for H.I.S. BridgeBuilders in February 2006. They are excited to see the transforming work God is doing through H.I.S. BridgeBuilders -- especially in the Laurel Lanes and Monticello communities! |
