What is the GED test?
Actually, it’s FIVE separate tests that cover the following: Social Studies, Science, Reading, Writing, and Mathematics.
Students are required to pass each individual test, in addition to getting a total number of points for an overall score.
Many students have successfully completed 3 or 4 sections, but lack the remaining 1 or 2. During the summer months, GED students continued meeting with the teacher, Ms. Busse, but instead of the usual class set-up, each person was assigned to attend one-on-one tutoring appointments. This individualized instruction was very successful and the students were highly motivated. The goal was to enable a group of eight students to pass who have thus far been unable to complete the entire testing process.
Anyone interested in enrolling in the Fall GED class, should stop by Turner Courts and sign up with Velma Mitchell. We will be starting class at the end of August.
