| As people’s hearts were stirred to give to hurricane relief efforts, many donation sites were overwhelmed. The Missions Office of Prestonwood Church generously gave thousands of articles of clothes, many toys and book, bedding and towels, diapers and other miscellaneous items. The donations were distributed November 19th and 20th by the BridgeBuilders staff.
Over 600 residents walked through the doors during the two day period to take what may become a Christmas blessing for their families. Over 300 individuals were given diapers. The smiles were contagious as each person said “Thank You” as they left the gym with bags full of items. Thanks be to God for the way he provides! For it is not by any work of the BridgeBuilders staff that we were able to provide for so many people. God has blessed us abundantly and we look forward to the ways in which He will continue to bless.
BridgeBuilders is thankful to the many volunteers that came to help organize and set up for the event the day before and for those that assisted the residents as they shopped both days. This was a major event and it would not have been as successful without the gift of time from the volunteers. |
