Back to School Bash |
 |
| On Friday, August 12, 2005, 650 boxes of school supplies, backpacks, hygiene products, uniforms and shoes were passed out to pre-registered families in the South Dallas area for the upcoming school year. The 50 unclaimed boxes of school supplies were donated to the local elementary and high school. A back to school bash would not be the same without good food. The Hamburger Man cooked up his signature hot dogs and hamburgers for the community to enjoy. Along with school supplies and great food, Joe Yow, H.I.S. BridgeBuilders staff, recruited local barbers who donated their time and skills to give the young boys fresh haircuts. Approximately 150 students received back-to-school haircuts. BridgeBuilders expresses their appreciation to the barbers, Jerriah J. Johnson, Yjaan Curtis, Mark Morgan, Joseph T. Gatlin, Patrick Brackens, Corey Anderson, Vincent Caruthers, Pedro Palicous, Dominique Kelly, Demarcus Kelly, Darius Frasure, McKlisby Robertson and Timothy Yow for taking time away from their shops on a Friday to give to the community. BridgeBuilders is also grateful to Drive Financial for organizing this event. Their willing staff does a great job facilitating all activities Drive hosts in the Turner Court Recreation Center. |
