Welcome Back Home

November 11, 2006 is a day that will always remain in the memory of Sequina Moore, a faithful Christian mother of four. On this Saturday morning, Sequina was presented with the keys to her new Habitat for Humanity home. As with all Habitat homeowners, Sequina and her family worked faithfully each Saturday to build this home until they reached the down payment of 400 hours of sweat equity. Only two years ago, Sequina and her family occupied an apartment in the Turner Courts Dallas Housing Authority Development. She was awarded a voucher to move into a town home because of her job consistency. While that enabled her to move out of the BonTon area, Sequina remained faithful to attend BridgeBuilders’ events such as Community Fellowship and her three daughters, ages 11, 9, and 7, still attended Kids Alive each week. Now that Sequina has received this home, she is back in the BonTon area, but with a new outlook on the future. Late in the evening, before moving into her home, Sequina could be found watering her grass, hoping it would lead to many happy moments of her family playing in their yard. From all of the BridgeBuilders’ staff, we wish Sequina many happy memories in her new home and welcome her back to BonTon!
