Easter Egg Hunt
As part of their missions outreach, the Diakonos class of Prestonwood Baptist Church organized the annual Easter egg hunt for the children in the Turner Court community. On March 24th, the children had the opportunity to decorate their own bag to use during the hunt, which also gave the Diakonos volunteers a chance to talk with the children. Shannon Murray gave a short gospel presentation using the Resurrection Eggs, a dozen plastic eggs, each filled with a symbol from the death and resurrection of Jesus. The children were then dismissed to one of two egg hunts. Children 4 years and under were given their own spot to hunt for their eggs, while the children 5-12 years hunted the entire playground area looking to get as many of the 3,000 hidden eggs as possible. BridgeBuilders is thankful to Jason Leeds and his team from the Diakonos class for organizing this annual event as a way for the children to hear about the sacrifice Christ made on our behalf while also enjoying the warm sunshine of the spring.
