I Got Your Back

This summer, H.I.S. BridgeBuilders launched our first annual “I Got Your Back” school supplies and backpack Initiative. We collaborated with several area churches and two very generous sponsors, Charlie and Karen Brown, to provide backpacks and school supplies to underprivileged students in South Dallas.

The turnout from the churches was phenomenal and we had hundreds of kids fully supplied and equipped to go back to school. It is important that children in South Dallas feel like they are equipped and have the tools necessary not only physically to succeed, but also emotionally.

When a child is given a backpack and school supplies from a stranger with a smile they receive the positive encouragement they need to believe in themselves. In the inner city there is a permeation of unbelief and self worthlessness. We are seeking to reverse that trend by giving them the hope of Jesus and the tools to accomplish their goals.

Thank you to everyone that participated in this year’s event. You will never know the future impact your generous gift can make today. As these children return to school, pray that they will not be discouraged by their circumstances and that they will instead be lifted up by the hope and identity they hold in Jesus.
