Mayor, Huckabee Dedicate Habitat Home

Mayor Tom Leppert and wife of Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, Janet Huckabee, joined H.I.S. BridgeBuilders and Habitat for Humanity at the groundbreaking ceremony Thursday, August 20th, for BridgeBuilders employee Clifton Reese.

Clifton is a key member of the BridgeBuilders team and looks forward to moving into the Bonton community with his family to reclaim his neighborhood for Christ. Clifton came to the ministry 3 years ago unemployed, separated from his wife and kids, and seeking purpose. During the summer of 2006 several staff members and volunteers began to minister to Clifton and encouraging him to finish school.

Clifton saw the joy and fulfillment of the BridgeBuilders staff and others in the community that decided to follow to Christ. He knew that Jesus was the answer to the hopelessness inside of him. He decided to follow Jesus!
Since Clifton began following Christ, the Lord has taken him on an amazing journey. He enrolled in the BridgeBuilders GED class and received his diploma, then graduated from our lens lab training course, and now works in the BridgeBuilder Eye Clinic. The Lord has continually shaped and molded Clifton to be a great witness to those in the Clinic and in the community. Now he is giving back to the community just like those that began ministering and encouraging him over 3 years ago.

We are so excited to have Clifton be a lighthouse of hope in Bonton and to begin claiming back his community along with other BridgeBuilders living in Bonton. They are taking the gospel of Jesus from house to house and street to street.

Please pray that the Lord will protect and guide Clifton and his family as they seek to glorify God in their neighborhood. We are prayerful that Clifton’s house will become a safe refuge, place of prayer, and a beacon of hope to the lost neighbors in his community.

We are grateful that Mayor Leppert and Mrs. Huckabee are affirming the work of H.I.S. BridgeBuilders and Habitat for Humanity and the changed lives that these ministries are producing by God’s grace.
