BridgeBuilders Goes International to Romania

For the last couple of years H.I.S. BridgeBuilders has been exploring opportunities to take our transformative model to Romania. Through the faithfulness of Bogdon Mihai and Chris Anderson we have had a strong presence in the community known as “The Valley” in Galati, Romania. When H.I.S. BridgeBuilders first went to Romania we had the joy of meeting Bogdon. While he is slow to speak about the past that he left behind, he has no hesitation to talk about the transformative power of Jesus Christ.

Bogdon came to Christ several years ago and has been walking with the Lord ever since. While many of his friends in “the valley” shuned him and disowned him, he faithfully continued to serve the Lord and lead as many people in “the valley” to Christ as he could. Almost two years ago, the ministry decided to support Bogdon financially as he ministered to his community. The Lord has done an amazing and miraculous work!

Bogdon now has a church of 50+ people that meet weekly and are working together to claim their community for Christ. Miraculously, God has provided a new church home where they can meet on Sundays and throughout the week for educational classes. Pastor Ovi, who leads Holy Trinity Church in Galati, is providing half of the funding for the new church/education facility and is mobilizing his congregation to participate in the work God is doing in the Valley.

God is doing miracles everyday in Romania and bringing people to Himself. While we praise God and give Him all the glory we also know that these men and heads of household need a way to provide for their family as they repent from a life of crime. There are several opportunities the Lord has brought to us, but one stands out.

Essilor, the second largest lens provider in the world and our partner here is Dallas, is seeking to open a lens lab in Romania. It would be the only lens lab in the entire country and they want to partner with us to do it. This could potentially provide many jobs and offer optical care to many people in the Valley currently locked out of the health care system.

The Lord has already begun to bring the pieces together that enable us to educate, train, and employ these new believers while encouraging them in their walk with the Lord.
