New BridgeBuilder 300 Shakes Things Up

It has been so amazing to see God move in the lives of so many people through our BridgeBuilders 300 campaign. We are glad to say that we are halfway to our goal of 300 people giving $100/month by March 2010. Many different types of people have joined our band of donors that are supporting the ministry.

A young, newly married couple decided to make BridgeBuilders 300 their first joint financial commitment, a successful businessman that has known of the ministry for years and never known what to give has now become a part of BB’s 300, but perhaps the most moving was a former welfare mom that now wants to give back to the ministry that helped turn her life around. This commitment, made by Velma Mitchell, has reverberated throughout the community that calls her “momma V”.

Velma has decided that it’s time to stop receiving and start giving back as God has blessed her and provided for her every need. Velma has faithfully taken the lead in showing others the importance of giving and sacrificing so that others can find hope in their hopelessness. Velma recently said in a meeting with other staff, “It’s time for the community to give back”.

What a blessing it is to see people that were once without hope now financially supporting the ministry that gave them hope in Christ. It is our heart that as we develop people to become financially independent, that we also develop them to be cheerful givers towards the church and other works of God. As Velma is leading this effort to have “the community give back” and become partners, not just partakers of the ministry, it is our hope that many others partners will join H.I.S. BridgeBuilders mission.
