H.I.S. BridgeBuilders is committed to community revitalization. We have been serving low-income communities in Dallas since 1995. One of those neighborhoods is the Bonton Community of South Dallas. Though Bonton has many challenges (low graduation rates, drug addiction, fatherlessness) we believe Bonton also has an incredible future in Christ. Individuals and families are being transformed as God’s love is being poured into this community. 

Along with the heart change that is occurring, is a physical renewal of the community. Bonton is part of the City of Dallas’s Bexar Street Redevelopment Project. This partnership between the City of Dallas, Dallas Housing Authority and community organizations, like H.I.S. BridgeBuilders, has long-term goals of seeing Bonton revitalized. Habitat-for-Humanity has built 30 homes in the last 5 years with area partners like Guaranty Bank, Prestonwood Baptist Church, Highland Park Presbyterian Church, Concord Church and H.I.S. BridgeBuilders. H.I.S. BridgeBuilders also has plans of opening a café in the community that will have a focus on training residents for the culinary industry.

In addition to these efforts, H.I.S. BridgeBuilders also serves Bonton through community events, service projects, local school involvement, children’s programming and Bible studies.

Bonton is H.I.S. BridgeBuilders focus community in Dallas but we also serve Wheatley Courts in San Antonio and Monticello & Laurel Lanes in Clarksburg, WV.
